The Walk: Choosing This Life, Step by Step

I’m Iya Fáyomi Zanmɛnou, an Iyalawo, herbalist, and rootworker. This tradition isn’t something I just practice. It’s the life I’ve chosen to live.
I’m in the middle of a real transition, from one way of living to another, and I’m making it on purpose. Nobody is pushing me down this road. I’m walking it because I know where it leads, and I want to live my whole life rooted in it: how I eat, how I move, how I mother, how I serve.
That kind of change takes commitment, and it carries real costs: training, materials, travel, and time set aside to do things properly.
This page is also a record. I’m documenting the walk as it happens so you can see what it looks like when someone chooses this path with her eyes open. Your support helps carry me forward, and it lets you walk alongside me.
Everything I gain on this road comes back to the community through my readings, my teaching, my herbal work, and the ancestral offerings I hold for others.
If you believe in this tradition, or you’ve been touched by my work, I’d be honored to have your support. Every gift becomes part of the offering.
Thank you for walking with me.
Àṣẹ.
