Still Standing: Post-Separation Relief for Local Women

Leaving Is Just the Beginning
There is a common misconception that once a victim leaves an abusive relationship, the danger and the hardship end. The reality is that leaving is often where the most exhausting chapter begins.
After separation, local women face an uphill battle. They are left to navigate complex family court systems, rebuild their lives from scratch, and endure the devastating, prolonged effects of post-separation abuse—from legal harassment and financial control to ongoing intimidation.
While outsourced shelter beds exist in Marion, traditional crisis services are structured almost entirely around the moment of immediate physical departure. They are not built for the long, draining months and years that follow. When narrow windows pass and institutional programs are out of reach, local women and mothers are left carrying the emotional and financial burden entirely on their own.
Meeting Real Needs Person-to-Person
I am organizing this fund personally to help local women who reach out through word of mouth, social media, and community ties. These are not broad institutional initiatives—this is direct, neighbor-to-neighbor aid to cover the practical, everyday costs that traditional agencies do not touch:
Legal & Court Survival: Family court costs add up quickly. Contributions help cover certified document printing, case file copies, court filing fees, and travel costs so mothers don’t lose custody or protection simply because they can't afford the paperwork.
Securing Independence & Safety: Post-separation harassment often targets personal security. Funds assist with emergency deadbolts, lock changes, re-keying doors, simple security cameras, and prepaid phone minutes so women stay safely connected.
Basic Stability for Kids & Home: When finances are frozen or drained by ongoing battles, everyday life cannot pause. Contributions help provide emergency fuel cards for court dates and school drop-offs, urgent car repairs, over-the-counter medicine, and specific children's essentials that donation pantries don’t supply.
Direct Support, Zero Overhead
Our long-term goal remains establishing a dedicated Family Resource Center right here in Union County to provide permanent local support. But these women and their children need help right now.
Because Kindbee has no platform or processing fees, 100% of every dollar contributed goes directly into paying for these exact, immediate needs for the women I am assisting.
Thank you for seeing the long road survivors walk, and for helping us ensure no local woman has to navigate post-separation abuse alone.
The Kindbee promise
No fees here. We cover the card processing costs ourselves, so 100% of your donation gets to the cause. And every year, 25% of our net profit goes back to the nonprofits we support.
