Sip & Support: Fund Hope for Students

When we fund education, we fund hope.

Sip & Support is a student-led charity working to close the opportunity gap for children and families facing financial stress in Charlotte, NC. We raise money for low-income schools and students who are struggling financially, so that no child’s education is limited by their family’s income.

Across Charlotte, academic gaps have barely moved in recent years. Data from the Charlotte Observer shows little improvement for several student groups between 2022 and 2024. According to EDNC, schools serving more economically disadvantaged students tend to see lower test scores and fewer advanced academic opportunities. CMS equity reports point to poverty-linked disparities in attendance, access to effective teachers, and participation in rigorous courses. Public Schools First NC also reports that many students with disabilities are economically disadvantaged and attend high-poverty schools.

These are real kids who deserve the same shot at success as anyone else.

We’re students, and we’ve already raised and donated over $1,000 through our partnerships with Carolina Youth Coalition(CYC) and Classroom Central, putting resources directly into the hands of the schools and students who need them.
