I stand before you not only as a woman living with kidney disease, but as a SURVIVOR, A FIGHTER, AND A LIVING TESTIMONY OF GOD’S AMAZING GRACE!
My journey has been filled with faith, perseverance, heartbreak, unexpected challenges, and the determination to keep going.
The Beginning — May 2019
My journey with kidney disease began before May 2019, but that was when my life changed dramatically.
At what I thought would be a routine doctor’s appointment, I was told:
“You need to be admitted to the hospital tomorrow to begin dialysis.”
I was not emotionally or mentally prepared. My kidneys were no longer functioning well enough to sustain my body without treatment, and I had to face a completely new reality.
But even then, I knew God had not abandoned me.
And so, in May 2019, my dialysis journey began.
Learning to Live With Dialysis
Dialysis is not just a treatment.
Dialysis is a lifestyle.
It changes your schedule, energy, diet, freedom, and outlook. Some days are manageable; others bring exhaustion, frustration, sadness, and uncertainty.
The hardest battle is often emotional—accepting that life has changed while watching others continue with routines you can no longer take for granted.
But through every treatment, every needle, and every difficult day, I kept showing up.
I learned that strength does not mean you never cry or feel discouraged. Sometimes strength is simply getting out of bed and going to another dialysis treatment when you are tired of fighting.
And I kept showing up, because I knew my story was not finished.
2025 — The Year My Life Was Tested Again
In 2025, while already living with kidney disease and dialysis, I faced another life-threatening challenge:
TRIPLE BYPASS HEART SURGERY.
I trusted my medical team, leaned on my faith, and by God’s grace, survived the surgery.
But one week later, my left lung collapsed.
MY KIDNEYS. MY HEART. MY LEFT LUNG.
Three vital organs, three major battles.
There were moments when every breath felt like a blessing and all I could do was pray.
BUT GOD!
I survived triple bypass surgery. I survived a collapsed lung. And I continued my fight with kidney disease.
Recovery required patience, determination, and strength, but I refused to give up.
I HAD COME TOO FAR TO QUIT!
When I look back at 2025, I see more than medical emergencies. I see a woman who endured, fought, and survived. I see another chapter proving that God is not finished with me yet.
October 7, 2026 — The Call I Had Been Waiting For
Then came a call I will never forget.
Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
I was told that a kidney was available for me.
THERE WAS A KIDNEY AVAILABLE FOR ME!
After more than seven years of dialysis, countless treatments, sacrifices, prayers, and medical challenges, I finally received the call so many kidney patients dream about.
It represented hope, a new beginning, and the possibility of greater freedom from dialysis.
But along with that hope came a painful reality:
I WAS NOT FINANCIALLY PREPARED.
The transplant journey is not only physical. It is emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial. There are responsibilities and expenses involved in preparing for surgery and recovering afterward.
Facing that obstacle at such an important moment was heartbreaking. But I refuse to let it destroy my hope.
I still believe another opportunity can come. I am still preparing, still praying, and still trusting God.
BECAUSE MY STORY IS NOT OVER!
Where I Stand Today
After more than seven years of dialysis, I look back on years of treatments, sacrifices, adjustments, lessons, and battles.
I survived triple bypass heart surgery. One week later, I survived a collapsed left lung. And on October 7, 2026, I received the call about a kidney, even though I was not financially prepared to move forward.
Despite everything, I AM STILL STANDING!
I am still a woman of faith, a community servant, a leader, and a woman with dreams, purpose, and goals.
I HAVE KIDNEY DISEASE, BUT KIDNEY DISEASE DOES NOT DEFINE ME!
My scars, struggles, and survival all tell a story—and my faith continues to carry me through the chapters still to come.
A Message to Others Who Are Fighting
To anyone living with kidney disease, undergoing dialysis, waiting for a transplant, recovering from surgery, or fighting a battle others cannot see:
DO NOT GIVE UP!
You may get tired, but do not surrender. You may cry, but do not lose hope. Setbacks may change your plans, but they do not cancel your purpose.
Your diagnosis is not your identity. Your circumstances do not erase your victories. Sometimes, surviving another day is a victory—and that victory deserves to be celebrated.
I also encourage everyone to learn more about kidney disease and organ donation. People are waiting for a second chance at life—people with families, dreams, responsibilities, and more living to do.
To those who support people with chronic illness, never underestimate the power of kindness, encouragement, prayer, and presence. Sometimes, knowing someone cares makes all the difference.
My Closing Testimony
In May 2019, I was told to begin dialysis the very next day.
In 2025, I survived unexpected triple bypass heart surgery, followed one week later by a collapsed left lung.
On October 7, 2026, I received a call about a kidney, but I was not financially prepared for that opportunity.
Through every challenge, I found a reason to keep fighting.
MY KIDNEYS HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED.
MY HEART HAS BEEN THROUGH SURGERY.
MY LEFT LUNG HAS COLLAPSED.
MY FINANCES HAVE BEEN TESTED.
BUT MY SPIRIT HAS NOT BEEN DEFEATED!
Faith is not always knowing how everything will work out. Sometimes faith is simply believing that you still have a reason to keep going.
I am still believing for my kidney transplant. I am still preparing for my next opportunity. I am still trusting God with my future, and I am still determined to live with purpose.
So do not just see a dialysis patient, a heart-surgery survivor, or someone who has faced financial challenges.
SEE A WOMAN WHO REFUSED TO GIVE UP!
SEE A WOMAN WHO CONTINUES TO FIGHT!
SEE A WOMAN WHO HAS BEEN THROUGH THE STORM BUT IS STILL STANDING!
I am more than my diagnosis, my surgeries, and my setbacks.
I AM A FIGHTER!
I AM A WARRIOR!
I AM A SURVIVOR!
AND BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I AM STILL HERE!
October 2026 is not the end of my story. There are still dreams to fulfill, lives to touch, blessings to experience, and a testimony still being written.
MY JOURNEY IS NOT OVER.
MY PURPOSE IS NOT FINISHED.
MY FAITH IS STILL STRONG.
AND MY NEXT CHAPTER IS STILL WAITING TO BE WRITTEN!
Thank you for allowing me to share my journey.
May God bless each and every one of you.
And remember: As long as there is life, there is hope!
