452 Roberts Road was never intended to be anything but an orphanage, zoned as residential with permission to run the donated property as an orphanage. Waverly Heights has proposed a very dense building plan (3 story apartments), numerous multi-unit dwellings, and 500 parking spaces. There is also an EMS station with ambulances tentatively in the plan.
We were successful in making our case to the Planning Commission on October 5th. They did not recommend that the Zoning Hearing Board approve the Special Exception sought by Waverly. Our next challenge is on Thursday, October 15th at 7pm, when the Zoning Hearing Board will meet to vote on the Special Exception. We've hired an attorney to represent all interested neighbors. We are asking for $1000 donation per household to cover legal costs and to include you in the legal representation. Please help us successfully challenge this proposal early.
