Hi everyone, we are reaching out because we are facing an unexpected financial emergency that is putting our dream of owning a home in jeopardy.
My husband and I have been working tirelessly to close on our mortgage. Based on explicit written/verbal confirmation from his 401k provider, we were told he only needed $1,000 vested to secure a general loan through them to cover our remaining closing costs.
This week, right at the finish line, the provider admitted they gave us the wrong terms. He actually needs $2,000 vested and a full year of employment to qualify. Because of this administrative error, our 401k loan collapsed, leaving us suddenly short by $6,500 to close our mortgage.
We are on a strict 2-week deadline before our loan approval expires and we lose our home. We are doing everything we can—including streaming here to spread the word. Every single dollar raised goes directly to our lender's closing escrow to save our home loan.
