Hi everyone!
From May 2–12, 2027, I have the opportunity through Grand Canyon University and Living and Learning International to go on an 11-day medical mission trip to Ecuador! I am really excited for this trip to learn more about healthcare while also giving back to communities in need!
During the trip, our team will travel to Quito and different areas of the Amazon, including Misahualli and Baños. We will work alongside medical professionals and missionaries to help provide care to local families through pop-up clinics, where we will assist with patient intake and vital signs. We will also have the opportunity to observe healthcare professionals in local hospitals, serve individuals with disabilities at Camp Hope, work with refugees and at-risk youth, and participate in community projects and health education.
I am excited for the chance to step outside of the classroom and see what healthcare looks like in different communities. As I work toward becoming a Physician Assistant, I know this experience will help me grow, learn from others, and better understand the challenges many people face when trying to access healthcare. Most importantly, I hope to make a positive difference in the lives of the people we meet and serve!
My fundraising goal is $3,500 to help cover the cost of the trip. This includes lodging, meals, transportation, airfare to Ecuador, medical supplies for the clinics, and travel insurance.
