Diabetic Teddy Bears for diabetic children

Hey! My name is Christian, and I know a lot about empty rooms. When I was 12, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, a condition where my body is unable to digest sugar properly. Upon my diagnosis, I didn't know how I would manage my condition or if I would have to give up my favorite foods. I spent every moment alone waiting on that narrow mattress for someone who could relate to my condition to tell me that everything would be okay. They never came. A few years later, I realized I could be the person I was waiting on for other people. Christian Bear was born. A teddy bear with diabetic apparatuses hand-sewn onto the bear and a message from me on how I was able to continue doing all the things I loved.

Even at 12 years old, it still took years until I knew I was going to be okay. Imagine what being diagnosed with a chronic condition feels like when you're 6.
