Help Us Give Barb More Time With the People She Loves

Our mom, Barb, is 69 years old, and she has spent her life making the people around her feel loved, welcomed, and at home.

In October 2023, our world changed when Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Since then, she has faced this disease with incredible strength and courage. She has gone through two rounds of chemotherapy and three rounds of radiation, always doing her best to keep moving forward and make the most of the time she has with the people she loves.

Unfortunately, her cancer is no longer responding to treatment. After an incredibly difficult journey, Mom is now on hospice and our focus has shifted from fighting the cancer to making sure she is comfortable, surrounded by love, and able to enjoy the time she has left.

Mom is a mother to two children, a bonus mom to three, and a grandmother to three grandchildren. But to know her is to know that her family extends far beyond those titles.

She is the person who opens her home and makes room for everyone. She loves hosting family, gathering around the table, playing games, laughing until everyone is crying, and creating a space where people feel like they belong. Her home has always been a place where you can show up, grab a drink, pull up a chair, and know you are welcome.

That is who Mom is: someone who gives people a place to land.

We are now asking for help giving that same gift back to her.

As Mom enters this final chapter, we want to surround her with the things that matter most: family, comfort, laughter, memories, and time together. We want to ease the financial burden that comes with hospice and end-of-life care so that our family can focus on what truly matters—being present with Mom.

If you know Barb, you know how much she has given to the people she loves. She has spent a lifetime taking care of others, creating memories, opening her heart and her home, and making people feel special.

Now it’s our turn to take care of her.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help us provide Mom with comfort and care and allow our family to spend this precious time together without the added weight of financial stress.
