Supporting Cranio Care Bears โข Raising Awareness โข Supporting Cranio Families
Meet Cameron ๐
This is our son, Cameron.
At just 6 weeks old, our pediatrician noticed a difference in his soft spot and the size of his head. We soon learned that Cameron had craniosynostosis, a condition we had never heard of before.
At just 3 months old, Cameron had surgery.
Today, Cameron is doing amazing! He will celebrate his first birthday in just two weeks, and after months of wearing his helmet, we are hoping he will be able to say goodbye to it in just one more week!
We created Camโs Crew to share Cameronโs story, raise awareness about craniosynostosis, and give back to an organization that supported our family when we needed it most.
๐ Help Us Support Cranio Care Bears
Every donation helps us give back to Cranio Care Bears and the families they support.
Can't donate? That's okay! Sharing our page and helping spread awareness is just as meaningful to us.
๐ Cameronโs Story
Our journey with craniosynostosis began when Cameron was just 6 weeks old.
During a routine checkup, our pediatrician noticed that something looked different about Cameron's soft spot and the size of his head. We had never heard of craniosynostosis, so suddenly we found ourselves learning about a condition we never expected to become part of our family's story.
At 3 months old, Cameron underwent surgery.
Surgery day was scary.
As parents, there is nothing easy about handing your baby over for surgery. There were so many emotions, questions, and fears.
But throughout our journey, we also gained a different perspective.
We realized how fortunate we were to have the medical care and support Cameron needed, while also recognizing that there are so many other children and families facing difficult diagnoses and incredibly challenging journeys.
One thing that meant so much to our family was receiving a care package from Cranio Care Bears.
It was more than just a package.
It was a reminder that we weren't alone. ๐
The care package was so helpful and amazing during a time when we really needed that extra bit of encouragement.
That support stayed with us.
Now we want to help give that same feeling of support to another family.
๐ What Is Craniosynostosis?
Craniosynostosis is a condition where one or more of the sutures, or joints between the bones of a baby's skull, close too early.
These sutures normally allow a baby's skull to grow as their brain grows. When a suture closes prematurely, it can affect the shape of a baby's head and, depending on the type and severity, may require treatment or surgery.
There are different types of craniosynostosis, and every child and family can have a different experience.
For our family, Cameron's diagnosis came as a complete surprise.
We had never heard of craniosynostosis before Cameron's diagnosis.
That's one of the reasons we feel awareness is so important.
We want more parents to know about craniosynostosis and to feel comfortable talking with their pediatrician if they notice something different about their baby's head shape or growth.
๐ About Cranio Care Bears
Cranio Care Bears is an organization dedicated to supporting children and families affected by craniosynostosis.
When you're suddenly faced with a diagnosis involving your baby, it can feel overwhelming and lonely.
For our family, receiving a care package from Cranio Care Bears helped remind us that there were people who understood what we were going through.
Their support meant so much to us.
Now we'd like to help them continue supporting other cranio families.
๐ Why We Created Camโs Crew
We created Cam's Crew to honor Cameron's journey and give back to an organization that helped our family.
Our goal is to raise money to donate to Cranio Care Bears while also helping educate people about craniosynostosis.
We know firsthand how scary a diagnosis and surgery can be.
We also know how much a little support can mean to a family during one of the hardest times in their lives.
If our fundraiser can help another family receive a care package, find information, feel supported, or simply know that they aren't alone, then it will all be worth it.

Share Our Story
You don't have to donate to make a difference.
One of the easiest ways you can help is by sharing Cam's Crew with your friends and family.
You never know who might see our story, learn something new about craniosynostosis, or know a family beginning their own cranio journey.
Spread Awareness
Talk about craniosynostosis.
Learn about it.
Share information with others.
The more people who know, the less alone families have to feel.
๐ Every Little Bit Helps
Maybe you donate $5.
Maybe you purchase something from the wish list.
Maybe you share our page.
Maybe you simply learn what craniosynostosis is and tell someone else.
It all matters.
Every donation, every wish-list purchase, every share, and every conversation helps us support cranio families.
๐ Our Hope
We started Cam's Crew because Cameron's story is one we want to share.
We want people to know about craniosynostosis.
We want families receiving a diagnosis to know that they aren't alone.
We want to give back to Cranio Care Bears for the kindness and support they showed our family.
And we want to help other babies and families receive that same support.
Cameron has already shown us just how strong he is.
As he gets ready to celebrate his first birthday and hopefully say goodbye to his helmet, we are incredibly thankful for how far he has come.
Thank you for being part of Cameron's journey. ๐
For Cameron.
For Cranio Care Bears.
For every family beginning their cranio journey.
๐ Welcome to Cam's Crew.
